History of ISOA

Founded in 2001, by Mr. Doug Brooks in collaboration with the private sector, government, NGO’s, and multi-national organizations, IPOA’s (International Peace Operations Association) mission to codify basic principles for ethical utilization of the private sector through tangible goals for accountability and transparency, were first implemented on the African continent. They are now the principles all ISOA members must adopt as a minimum condition of membership, and are also reflected in the International Code of Conduct. In 2010 as the core mission of IPOA evolved from peacekeeping operations to global stabilization efforts, IPOA renamed itself ISOA (International Stability Operations Association).

Today, ISOA is the only organization dedicated specifically to enhancing the integrity and effectiveness of private-sector support for international stability efforts.
