Dr. Amit Arwindekar and Kristin Rantala from UnitedHealthcare Global will be providing a detailed look into the various elements & challenges contractors face globally and how coordinated care resources can ensure deployment success.  These essential resources are available throughout the duration of assignment (pre, active & post) and ensure total member wellbeing no matter the location.
 
During the session, Courtney Mitchell & Michelle Johnson from MAG Aerospace will reflect on recent experiences and how their organization dealt with specific challenges.  They will share invaluable learnings and share best practices which enable their ongoing project success.

Dr. Amit Arwindekar
North American Medical Director
UnitedHealthcare Global

Dr. Amit Arwindekar is a physician executive and educator specializing in the care of globally mobile populations. His passion is bringing high-quality care to all patients and developing of the next generation of clinical leaders.  As the North American Medical Director for UnitedHealthcare Global, he specializes in cross-border medical care, medical transportation, complex case management, and healthcare innovations to meet the needs of globally mobile citizens.  As a practicing physician and medical director in academic urban emergency departments, he has built systems to ensure quality care, reduce waiting times, increase capacity and build collaboration through transparency of information, clear communication and empowering frontline staff.
 
He serves an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of IL College of Medicine.
 
He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and his MBA from the McDonough School of Business before completing specialist training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago.

Kristin Rantala
National Vice President, Sales & Client Management
UnitedHealthcare Global

Kristin Rantala has over 20 years of experience in the field of employee benefits, EAP and Wellbeing. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare Global as the National Vice President of Sales and Client Management, she was with Optum International. As the Head of Global Account Management, she worked with multi-national teams to delight customers and drive growth by strengthening and expanding Optum’s footprint with large, strategic multi-national employers and payers. Before moving into the international space, Kristin worked as a Director of Strategy and Analytics for Optum US. In that role, she was responsible for turning data into customer-facing value stories.
 
Kristin has a Master’s Degree in Counselling and Psychological Services and has been a CEAP for over 15 years. In addition to her role at UHC Global, Kristin is also the President Elect of the Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA).

James Trani - Moderator
Regional Vice-President, Client Development – Global Solutions

James Trani is a Regional Vice President with UnitedHealthcare Global where he works with multinational employers/organizations to develop customized international benefits programs based on a group’s specific global risk exposure.  Prior to taking over responsibility for Global Insurance, James led new business development efforts for the UnitedHealthcare Global Assistance & Risk Divisions.  During this time, he worked in conjunction with clients to design solutions that supported medical/security/natural disaster evacuation services, emergency response planning, global intelligence services, aviation resource requests and also on-the-ground security support solutions.

James has over 15 years in the international benefits/services industry and has worked with clients/prospects across various industries ranging in size from 50 to 500,000 employees.  

James has degrees in both Psychology and Economics from The College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA). 

Michelle Johnson
Benefits Manager
MAG Aerospace

Michelle started with MAG in May 2018 and is responsible for the design, management and administration of the Health and Welfare benefits. In addition to managing all day to day aspects of the Benefits program, Michelle specializes in Benefits Strategy Analysis and Development, Design, Implementation and Compliance. Michelle’s mission within the HR team is to  strive to ensure we are offering the best benefits possible to our employee population, including both domestic and international based employees, while remaining competitive in the industry. Michelle has partnered with United Healthcare Global since the fall of 2019 and has been able to experience first-hand the excellent support and professional structure that they encompass.

Courtney Mitchell
Vice President of Human Resources

Courtney began working with MAG in August 2018 and has transformed the Human Resources team into a valuable partner within the MAG Aerospace corporate community. Courtney leads the HR team to ensure that they consistently exhibit the MAG HR Mission of adding value to the business and taking care of our employees, while scaling for growth as a quickly developing company.  Throughout her tenure at MAG, Courtney has implemented many exciting initiatives, including the launch of a new HCM Platform, Ultimate Software, and beginning the partnership with United Healthcare Global for the MAG employees who are working to support our overseas contracts.
