Aidis LK Zunde

Chief Operating Officer, Yorktown Systems Group

Aidis Zunde serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Yorktown Systems Group. In this role, he is responsible for operational performance, customer engagement, strategy, corporate development, and business growth for the company.

Commissioned as an Infantry officer, Mr. Zunde held positions of increasing responsibility from second lieutenant to colonel, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, the Southern European Task Force (SETAF), the 75th Ranger Regiment, and the 101st Airborne Division, among other formations, to include combat tours during Operations JUST CAUSE, DESERT SHIELD/STORM, and IRAQI FREEDOM and commanding the 1/507 Parachute Infantry Regiment (US Army Airborne School).

Upon retiring from the Army in 2007, Mr. Zunde joined WBB, supporting the JIEDDO C-IED Operations/Intelligence Integration Center (COIC), where he was the first Chief of the Afghanistan Task Force, providing intelligence support to warfighting elements. At the COIC Director’s request, Mr. Zunde went to Kabul to oversee a surge in support to that theater as the COIC Senior Advisor, Afghanistan.

Mr. Zunde joined Lockheed Martin in late 2009 as the Senior Program Manager for the Joint C-IED Analytical Support Teams (JCAST) at the COIC. He subsequently became the Director of the Operational Intelligence and Analysis Division. In that role, he led an organization of 400 personnel across 14 programs, providing intelligence analysis, operations/intelligence integration, software development, and training solutions to Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and commercial customers.

Mr. Zunde came to Huntington Ingalls Industries in early 2017, responsible for managing the development and execution of that organization’s strategy for enhancing support to the IC and other national security organizations. The following year, he became the Senior Director for the National Security Solutions (NSS) Business Unit, an organization of almost 1,000 personnel across 90+ programs providing cybersecurity, systems engineering and integration, mission training, modeling & simulation, mission logistics, operational support, and advanced engineering solutions to customers across the DoD. In 2020, he was selected to be the Senior Director for Business Development and Strategy of the restructured Defense and Federal Solutions (DFS) Group within HII-TSD, leading a team of over 30 business developers, capture managers, and proposal staff supporting a group with over $800M in annual revenue providing a wide range of solutions to DoD, the IC, and Fed/Civ agencies.

Aidis Zunde is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and an Olmsted Scholar, earning his Master’s in International Economics at the University of Warsaw, Poland.
